Today (25 October 2017), Police Major General Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek, Deputy Metropolitan Police Commissioner, informed the press that 27 roads around the Grand Palace and area adjacent to Sanam Luang are closed to all vehicles except official cars. Further road closures will begin at 05.00 hr on 26 October 2017. As there is a large number of people entering Sanam Luang, some screening points are temporarily closed for reasons of security and preparation and will be reopened soon. The Deputy Commissioner also recommended that mourners visit four replicas nearby (at the former office of the Government Lottery Office, Lan Khon Muang in front of Bangkok City Hall, Nakaraphirom Park, and the King Rama I Monument area) to place cremation flowers instead of gathering at Sanam Luang.
