In remembrance of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol, the Ministry of Culture of Thailand in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka have organized the exhibition "The Royal Thai-Bhutanese Photo Exhibition: A Tribute to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej” from 8 to 31 December 2016, in Bhutan.
The displays include four parts, as follows: royal Thai-Bhutanese relations, the biography and the lifelong work of the late King Bhumibol, and expressions of condolences between Thailand and Bhutan.
Her Royal Highness Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck, Her Royal Highness Princess Dechen Yangzom Wangchuck, Her Royal Highness Princess Kesang Choden Wangchuck and His Royal Highness Prince Ugyen Jigme Wangchuck joined the opening exhibition the exhibition.
35 delegates led by Deputy Prime Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Minister for Culture of Thailand, the ambassador of Thailand to Bhutan participated in the opening ceremony.
Bhutan was the first country to be chosen to hold this exhibition since Thailand and Bhutan have had close relations at all levels for more than 27 years, especially the cordial relations between the royal families of both countries.
Moreover, His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck were the first monarch to pay tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Thailand.
