Foreign Dignitaries from over 30 Countries Will Attend the Royal Cremation

Members of royal families and distinguished representatives from at least 32 counties all over the world have confirmed that they will attend the Royal Cremation of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which will be held on October 26.


Busadee Santipitaks, Director-General of the Department of Information and the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, revealed that 14 royal family members and 18 distinguished

representatives will attend the cremation. She confirmed the list of foreign guests on 22 October 2017 and said that more guests may be added to the list later.


The foreign dignitaries attending the Royal Cremation include the following persons:

- King Letsie III and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso from Lesotho;

- King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Ashi Jetsun Pema Wangchuck from Bhutan;

- King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u from Tonga;

- Queen Silvia from Sweden;

- Queen Maxima from the Netherlands;

- Queen Mathilde from Belgium;

- Queen Sofia from Spain;

- Crown Prince Frederik from Denmark;

- Crown Prince Haakon Magnus from Norway;

- Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie from Luxembourg;

- Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak and Tuanku Zara Salim the Raja Permaisuri of Perak from Malaysia;

- Prince Andrew, Duke of York from the United Kingdom;

- Prince Akishino and Princess Akishino from Japan;

- Princess Margaretha from Liechtenstein;

- President U Htin Kyaw and his wife Su Su Lwin from Myanmar;

- President Bounnhang Vorachith from Laos;

- President Halimah Yacob and her husband Mohamed Abdullah Alhabsee from Singapore;

- Governor-General General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his spouse Lady Lynne Cosgrove from Australia;
